The grants are designed to assist entrepreneurs, researchers and cutting edge firms turn ideas into feasible products and ventures. “Commercialisation Australia is a new Australian Government initiative that will take a radically different approach to commercialising Australian research and ideas. It will help public sector researchers and private sector innovators turn their ideas into internationally competitive goods and services.”   Senator Kim Carr, Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research (http://www.commercialisationaustralia.gov.au/Pages/Home.aspx, 8/01/2010) Commercialisation Australia Grants offered include:

  • Proof of concept grants with offerings of $50,000 to $250,000 to examine the suitability of ideas and concepts  in the commercial market place
  • Repayable grants from $250,000 to $2,000,000 to advance  products or concepts to the marketing stage
  • Up to $50,000 to retain expert services and advice

LX Group can assist with applying for the grant money for software, firmware and electronic conceptual prototypes, rapid prototypes and electronics product development. Prototypes are an important resource for securing management approvals, grants, investors, pre-sale orders and encouraging product development in order to introduce new electronic designs into the commercial arena in a timely manner. Director and founder of the award-winning company LX Group, Simon Blyth, believes that developing electronics via the use of prototypes in a fast and efficient manner is crucial to the success of an electronic, software or firmware product. LX Group can produce this type of prototype in as little as three days. In addition, LX Group  has the experience and expertise to take a prototype through each stage of the design process up to completion and into the market place. Commercialisation Australia Grants may provide the ideal opportunity to develop an electronics, firmware or software concept. LX Group can assist with applying for the grant, develop a prototype or rapid prototype, product development, and if required assist with manufacture and marketing.
